Gift Giving Tuesday

Greetings

The Philippine Humanitarian Coalition (PHC) and the Philippine Nurses Association of Upstate New York  (PNA Upstate NY) humbly invite you to contribute to our meaningful cause in support the 2023 NAMAMASKO PO TULONG KABABAYAN (translates to "we are asking for a Christmas gift, Help our Countrymen) through  GIFT GIVING TUESDAY , November 1 – December 2, 2023.

The money raised from Gift Giving Tuesday is going to the most disadvantaged families in the Philippines who were affected by the COVID pandemic and the devastation created by natural and man-made disasters in the Philippines - the Mayon Volcano eruption and typhoons that aggravated financial hardships due to loss of jobs and homes. These events have worsened the already challenging economy, especially, the workers who are daily wage earners, and those in vulnerable areas and informal settlements. Those who have been living in poverty are now left with almost nothing — families are now experiencing hunger and they need help to rebuild their homes.

To date, PHC and PNA Upstate NY with our Philippine partner, Tanging Yaman Foundation have already distributed food packs and solar lanterns to the Mayon volcano evacuation centers which housed residents within the level 3 alert and danger Zone from June to the 1st week in October 2023 and food packs to those affected by super typhoon Doksuri in Ilocos Norte and Cagayan Valley.

“Namamasko Po” (we are asking for a Christmas gift). This is a chance for us to celebrate the Christmas spirit of giving wherever we live in the world. We are expecting this show to be viewed by thousands of audience worldwide. The spirit of “bayanihan” (spirit of communal unity and cooperation) which we all grew up with will continue to be celebrated. Your support will ensure a Filipino family in the Philippines will have food on their table. The need for help is very real and they need it NOW.

PHC and PNA Upstate NY  are very confident that your voluntary donation in “Namamasko Po” will bring you that feeling of gratitude and much appreciation this coming holiday season. Please join us in helping our “kababayans” in the Philippines during this unprecedented time. Your generous financial donation will  continue to provide our kababayans basic needs of food, drinking water and safe living conditions.
